Frequently Asked Questions

FAQ
Q. How do I register for a class?
A. We ask that all registrations be done on-line. You can browse our "Class Schedule & Registration" tab from the menu at the top of our website. Clicking on a particular class will open a new page with additional class details. Once you find a class you wish to register for simply click on the "Click here to Register" button on the class details page. This will take you to the "Final Check-out" page where you simply enter the information requested.

Q. How do I register for a class if I am using a Gift Certificate?
A. You can register for qualifying classes with a Gift Certificate just like you would any other class. Simple select the class you wish to register for from our on-line schedule. When completing the "Final Check-out" page select "Gift Certificate" from the payment options and provide your Gift Certificate number in the "comments" section. You will be required to surrender your Gift Certificate when you attend the class. Also note that each purchased Gift Certificate is good for one person at a regular priced class. Gift Certificates cannot be used for CCNS classes, private parties or corporate team-building events. All Gift Certificate sales are non-refundable.

Q. I love your classes and want to take more. Is there a way I can get a discount for taking multiple classes?
A. Yes, there are two ways you can save on classes. You can take advantage of our Gift Certificate special where if you purchase 4 Gift Certificates you get 1 FREE. You can also earn a FREE Gift Certificate by volunteering to be Art's helper during classes. If you want to volunteer please give Art a call.

Q. What is the minimum and maximum number of persons for a private party or corporate team-buildign event?
A. The minimum number required for a private event is 8 and the maximum is 14.

Q. Can my child attend a regular class with me?
A. The minimum age for a child to take a regular adult class is 16. For younger children we offer "Parent and Child" classes that are more appropriate.

Q. Can you tell me more about private parties for Kids?
A. Private Parties are a great way to have the entire class reserved for just your group. Whether for Birthdays, Scouts or other group gatherings. These classes have a minimum of 8 kids required and a maximum of 13. The children must be at least 7 years of age. Kids parties are typically scheduled for 2 hours, please contact us for pricing. A 50% deposit is required at the time of booking. Because we are reserving this time slot for just you the deposit is non-refundable. Please call Art to inquire about dates & time availability. You can choose from the following menus or make a special request: Appetizers: Main Course: Deserts: Soup Homemade Pizza Cake with homemade frosting Salads Homemade Pasta Homemade Cupcakes

Q. Can you tell me more about private parties for Adults?
A. The Kitchen Workshop is a great place to have your private party (Bachelorette, Retirement, Employee, Holiday, Fundraising, Girl's/Guy's night out and Family get-togethers). We require a minimum of 8 participants and can accommodate up to 14 participants. Private parties are 3 hours long and the cost per participant is $64.00. A 50% deposit is required at the time of booking. Because we are reserving this time slot for just you the deposit is non-refundable if you fail to provide notice 30-days prior to your class. You should try to arrange your party several week in advance to ensure you get the date and time that works best for you. The benefits of hosting your private party at The Kitchen Workshop are you get to choose what type of food you want to prepare in the class, enjoy making it with your friends & family, and best of all everyone can sit down at the end of the class to enjoy the fruits of your labor. Here are a few suggestions for your menu: Appetizers: Main Course: Deserts:

Q. I have a food allergy, am a vegetarian or have other special dietary restrictions, can you make special accommodations for me?
A. Yes, but please let us know when you register if you or anyone in your group has a particular food allergy or dislike and we will try to arrange a menu around that. However, our kitchen is NOT a gluten-free or nut-free environment. We recommend you not take a class if your condition restricts you from an environment that contains gluten or nuts. Also note that we cannot "police" all the ingredients in a meal. It is the responsibility of every participant to pay careful attention to the meals they prepare and to know what they can and cannot eat. Often an ingredient can be substituted for one that better suits your particular need.

Q. Is there anything I need to bring to class?
A. No. All food ingredients are provided along with all the necessary kitchen "hardware". A printed copy of all the recipes that are prepared during the class will be provided to everyone at the start of the class. We have aprons and name tags that we ask everyone to wear. But the most important thing to bring to a class is an open-mind and a happy face. Cooking should be fun and we want everyone to enjoy themselves and take home some new knowledge.

Q. What about left overs?
A. Generally, you will prepare enough of each item so everyone in the class gets a generous portion. There will sometimes be leftovers for you to take home.

Q. I have registered for a class but my schedule has changed what should I do?
A. Although tuition is non-refundable, you can transfer to another class up to 48 hours before your scheduled class. Please call us to make such arrangements. If you are unable to attend a class that you have registered for you may also send someone else in your place. Again, please call us. This policy does not apply to private parties or events.

Q. How will I know if a class is being cancelled due to poor weather conditions?
A. If we need to cancel a class due to inclement weather or other reason we will send an email to the address that you provided during registration. You may also check our homepage prior to leaving for class for any special cancellation notices.
